The diamond illuminates life’s most precious moments. Day after day, time and time again, it calls to mind the cherished memories of wonderful feelings: fidelity, joy, gratitude, happiness, trust or love. Diamonds are perennially fascinating thanks to their unique beauty and infinite luminosity. We know that the value of a diamonds derives not solely from its beauty and luminosity, but also and above all from its quality, so we’re one of the few jewellers that has established its own gemmological centre. The internationaly experienced specialists in Hamburg subject diamonds to strict tests before “knighting“ each stone that passes those test with an individual Wempe certificate of authenticity and including it to our “Illumination” collection.
Whether you prefer a diamond that shines on its own as a solitaire or sparkles in lines of pave set, the choice is yours. The competent design of the Illumination collection is reflected in each of the individual lines of jewellery: Solitaire, Renaissance, Memoire, Rivière and Evergreen.

The new Hublot Big Bang chronograph reduced to ‘41mm’ is distinguishable by the multilayered construction of its case, and bezel complete with 6 ‘H’-shaped titanium screws, sunken, polished and blocked, like those found the first 44mm Big Bang chronograph. It is available in 18K red gold, steel or ceramic, and even with diamond setting.
An interesting side profile is achieved with a composite resin insert in a matching colour, which gives the impression that the Hublot natural rubber bracelet passes directly through the body of the chronograph.
On a technical note, the mechanical chronograph movement with automatic movement 2894 and oscillating weight in tungsten carbide, personalised in the colours of Hublot, is left open to view through the sapphire crystal encased by the steel back. Hublot also had its female clientele in mind when developing the new ‘41mm’ Big Bang chronograph in a “Black Magic” version with black ceramic base and bezel; an “Aspen” version in white ceramic with white rubber strap and dial or with bezel set with 114 diamonds weighing 1.22K; a “Frappuccino” version in black ceramic with chocolate brown dial and strap; and a “Porto Cervo” version in 18K red gold, bezel set with 114 diamonds weighing 1.22K, white dial and white rubber strap, which offers an astonishing contrast and further accentuates the fusion of unique materials.

“Z. Island” wasn’t created just to astonish and create talk. The kitchen environment conceived by Zaha Hadid in collaboration with Ernestomeda and DuPont presents innovations involving the processing of materials that will be useful for future kitchen manufacture, structural organization and the integration of advanced technologies.
The raw material of the Z. Island, Corian is extremely malleable, perfect for the creative requirements of an architect famous for the originality and complexity of his projects. DuPont has been working for years to increase the ductility and ease of processing of this material to broaden its applications and exalt its aesthetic and tactile qualities. No longer dedicated to isolated elements of the kitchen like the counter top or the sink, Corian has now been used to realize an entire kitchen (articulated in two compact functional blocks) and an ample modular system of closets and wall panelling.
The smooth, fluid, translucent surface, is pleasing to the eyes as well as to the touch. The elongated “fire-island” (with cooking range and grill) curves softly up to vertical on the right side; the “water-island” (with sink, drying rack and integrated dishwasher) is compact and hexagonal.
LED words flow across one side of the fire-island, while the opposite side houses a luminous spotlight, an LCD screen and just below that, an MP3 player, two USB ports and a CD or DVD player. In the central area an induction cooking surface, a food preparation area, and a food warming plate are integrated into the Corian counter top. Finally, three aroma diffusers emit special fragrances for evoking special atmospheres for special moments.
The wall closet modules are composed of undulating Corian cabinets, grafted onto an aluminium structure. Whereas sophisticated advanced acoustic and LED systems are incorporated into the wall panelling (a succession of flat and thermo-sculpted Corian surfaces). Thus, each panel becomes a source of sounds, music and coloured lights that filter through in the desired sequence.
Sensory involvement is total: a person cooking can surf the web, check their email, watch a film or program a batch of songs to listen to. A pattern of lights calibrated with the release of aromatic essences make it possible to create fascinating personalized effects.
Each experience is easily programmed through a “touch control” panel, situated at the center of the fire-island (illuminated by blu LEDs) with which one can access the multiple functions of the kitchen.

“The gratifiant pleasure that I tested when Baccarat proposed to me to draw objects for its ‘ rencontre’ biannual with a designer quickly yielded the place to a persistent concern due to the constraints of the crystal, news for me…
My collection meets, voluntarily heterogeneous as well in the style as in the function, moves away from the usual prototypes of the crystal as much as the places and the mythical places of the whole world whose parts bear the name. Although often culturally and geographically to the antipodes from/to each other, these places are connected by a universal destiny just like the crystal is here the angular stone essential to my work with BACCARAT.”
Clear crystal mud, red crystal spines, prickly pears out of crystal cut glass.

Christie’s will hold a sale of jewelry and works of art from the Collection of Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, in London on June 13 to 14. More than 800 items will be featured, with estimates ranging from $174 to $872,000. The sale will include an antique diamond riviere accompanied by three handwritten notes naming the necklace after a previous owner as the ‘Lady Mount Stephen,’ which was given to the princess by her grandmother, Queen Mary.
Another highlight is a five-row art deco pearl and diamond necklace and a marquise cut diamond ring of 5.17 carats.
The “Poltimore Tiara” which was originally created by Garrards in the 1870’s for Florence, Lady Poltimore, the wife of the second Baron Poltimore is up for auction. The princess wore it on her wedding day and prior to the wedding, she wore it in its alternative form as a diamond fringe necklace and scroll brooches.
She was the party loving Princess - who was the centre of a glittering social scene in her youth.
Now a treasure trove of jewellery owned by the Queen’s sister Princess Margaret is expected to raise millons of pounds when it goes under the hammer at auction.
The collection, which includes the diamond tiara she wore to her wedding and a valuable Faberge clock, is apparently being sold by her family to pay death duties.
