ABSOLUTE CLASSIC A top-range “classy classic” - universal idea of beauty

Absolute-Classic-Scavolini Given its absolute preview in Milan, in the prestigous setting of “Eurocucina” 2006, “Absolute Classic” is Scavolini’s latest kitchen in the top-range classical sector; a highly sophisticated product, intended to meet the most demanding requirements. A “classy classic” designed for the occasion by the architect Gianni Pareschi, a model that oversteps the old dictates of conventional style to adopt new design shapes, taking on the mantle of a great cultural heritage.
A new frontier in classical kitchen design for the third millennium, “Absolute” by Scavolini is the ideal combination of a love of tradition and contemporary lightness; it plays a sophisticated game between the certainties of cosmopolitan luxury and the shapes of modern design and surprises with its wealth of features and details, ready to become the undisputed protagonist on the domestic scene and a representation of style for those who live their kitchens to the full.
And since the classical may find different means of expression, this unique, exclusive kitchen also has a variety of faces. Gloss lacquered doors (available in the elegant colours white, lac red, English green, blue, black and dark grey) for the “Baccarat” version, where the keynote is “joie de vivre”; doors with cream oak, natural oak and dark oak finish to underline the charm and harmony of the “Grands Relais” version; and lacquered doors combined with total black work-tops, and striking neoclassical mouldings, brass trims and plinths, for the “Hyde Park” version, perfect for setting the scene for the international jet set.
Three different characters for a kitchen that reinterprets classical style in the light of a cosmopolitan language, and opens new trajectories in the creation of a totally distinctive room of absolute quality.

Zaha Hadid - The multi-sensory kitchen in collaboration with DuPont

Zaha-Hadid-kitchen-z-island“Z. Island” wasn’t created just to astonish and create talk. The kitchen environment conceived by Zaha Hadid in collaboration with Ernestomeda and DuPont presents innovations involving the processing of materials that will be useful for future kitchen manufacture, structural organization and the integration of advanced technologies.
The raw material of the Z. Island, Corian is extremely malleable, perfect for the creative requirements of an architect famous for the originality and complexity of his projects. DuPont has been working for years to increase the ductility and ease of processing of this material to broaden its applications and exalt its aesthetic and tactile qualities. No longer dedicated to isolated elements of the kitchen like the counter top or the sink, Corian has now been used to realize an entire kitchen (articulated in two compact functional blocks) and an ample modular system of closets and wall panelling.
The smooth, fluid, translucent surface, is pleasing to the eyes as well as to the touch. The elongated “fire-island” (with cooking range and grill) curves softly up to vertical on the right side; the “water-island” (with sink, drying rack and integrated dishwasher) is compact and hexagonal.
LED words flow across one side of the fire-island, while the opposite side houses a luminous spotlight, an LCD screen and just below that, an MP3 player, two USB ports and a CD or DVD player. In the central area an induction cooking surface, a food preparation area, and a food warming plate are integrated into the Corian counter top. Finally, three aroma diffusers emit special fragrances for evoking special atmospheres for special moments.

Zaha-Hadid-kitchen

The wall closet modules are composed of undulating Corian cabinets, grafted onto an aluminium structure. Whereas sophisticated advanced acoustic and LED systems are incorporated into the wall panelling (a succession of flat and thermo-sculpted Corian surfaces). Thus, each panel becomes a source of sounds, music and coloured lights that filter through in the desired sequence.
Sensory involvement is total: a person cooking can surf the web, check their email, watch a film or program a batch of songs to listen to. A pattern of lights calibrated with the release of aromatic essences make it possible to create fascinating personalized effects.
Each experience is easily programmed through a “touch control” panel, situated at the center of the fire-island (illuminated by blu LEDs) with which one can access the multiple functions of the kitchen.

The new Salviati wave

2006 is starting off under the sign of innovation for Salviati. Today, Salviati combines research on glass and changing designs with explicit efforts to make this formidable material more accessible to a young, dynamic and resolutely urban target.
Salviati-waveThe bowl is the emblem for this new focus: an object for daily use, humble and essential, requiring the designer and glassmaker to face up to streamlined designs through a process of subtraction. It is therefore the effect of the surface, the texture, the material in its purest state that stands out.
So here we have a range of objects to be used, designed to mark the home and life, to provide a magic touch for the day-to-day, to allow us to rediscover our love for beauty and fun, even in everyday small things. Simplicity, beauty, irony: that is what the new Salviati wave is all about.
Pop: the smooth black surface is dotted with white walls, a stunning tessellate mosaic.
Vertigo, Spin: slim rods of white glass are merged on the surface of the object. The turning of the blowpipe in the hands of the master glassmaker imbues the glass with a circular movement. The hypnotic effect is guaranteed.
A powerful breath of life modelling a drop of changing material at the end of a metal pipe: in essence, all the master glassmaker’s art stems from this act. The Drops series, produced in Murano, celebrates this act with the simplicity and lightness of spontaneous and random lines.
Today, this series is being enriched with a new miniature size in several colours, to charmingly decorate all corners of the home, to make all the beauty of a thousand-year-old tradition accessible to reflect a new art of living. For the beginning of this year, the Drops are dressed in black. A total black look for a sophisticated version, in the spirit of the latest trends. The know-how of a craftsman, a seductive design and fashionable colours: that is all the Salviati spirit in a few small drops.

Throughout the centuries, crystal signed by Baccarat has become synonymous with the social graces. Today, only the rigor of Baccarat’s know-how is able to meet the quality demanded by oenologists.
baccarat
Baccarat glasses are a source of pleasure for both the eyes and the hand, and they meet the requirements for taste and aroma enhancement so that tasters can better appreciate wines.
Baccarat crystal refines the transparency of the glass with clarity. Enhanced by light, the chromatic nuances of wines are unveiled as they reveal the density of their color. When wine is swirled in the glass, legs adhere to the bowl; their more or less pronounced aspect gives an initial idea of the alcohol content of the wine or spirit.
The amplitude of the bowls, specially designed for focused wine-tasting sessions, is suited to the ideal approach of a wine’s unique aromas. The taster is therefore able to unlock the wine’s personality revealed by the bouquet. The grape variety, year and region… are gradually revealed as the nuances of the aromas move through fruity, gamey and spicy gradations.

Clive Christian- Return to splendor

Clive Christian boutiqueThe architectural detailing of many older homes is a large part of their appeal – but the grandeur doesn’t always carry through to the kitchen. Often the last rooms to be considered in the original design process, kitchens in older homes are often poorly designed and impractical.
Such was the case with the existing kitchen in this home. There was poor appliance placement – the fridge-freezer was a long distance from the main counter and sink. There was also very little storage, and no room for a television. In addition to the poor layout, there was no significant feature to draw the eye in.The owner, who had been a fan of Clive Christian kitchens for some time, commissioned a custom kitchen that would transform the room, in both a visual and practical sense.
This is the Alpha range of Bespoke Kitchen Furniture from Clive Christian - and you can see why it’s already being called the “moonlight kitchen”.
The dramatic moonlight effect is created by bespoke blue LED lighting built in to the furniture - designed to be a permanent feature when daylight fades and electric light is too severe.
Clive Christian say that Alpha bespoke kitchen furniture was inspired by the decadent mood of Stanley Kubrick’s film Eyes Wide Shut. Love it or hate it, this ground-breaking new direction for Clive Christian certainly mirrors the dramatic visual impact of the film.
