Italy – Snowshoeing

It’s about as far removed from kite-skiing as possible; as a sport, snowshoeing is more valium than adrenalin, and the only skill necessary is the ability to walk. But it’s a fantastic cold-climate activity, because after just five minutes uphill, it’s time to shed clothing. Another five minutes and, even starting from a busy ski-resort base, you will have entered what feels like a winter wilderness. For most people, snowshoeing is a form of exercise; but those who get hooked can take an eight-day holiday on snowshoes in the Dolomites above Cortina with Exodus.
