Because Tablets Are So Square: Here’s A Triangular One
So most of you had a few giggles when Dwight Schrute unveiled a triangular tablet on The Office. It was funny and that was that. But Eric Calisto didn’t laugh. Instead, he squinted and said “Challenge accepted!” That’s right, Eric wants to build the thing and he’s launched, you guessed it, a Kickstarter project to do just that. He thinks that $25k should just about cover development costs, while a $500 contribution will get you one tablet.
Here’s where things get a little complicated. There IS no tablet at the moment. No solid plans, not even weak ones beyond the intention to use some flavor of Android as the OS. There is no indication of whether Eric has contacted any parts manufacturers… nothing. Now, we’re all for innovation and creativity and let’s face it… a triangular tablet would be pretty funny to carry around. Even better if it actually works and has decent specs. Although maybe the novelty of it would wear off pretty quick.
Whatever the case, you can always go check out his project. Just know that at the moment he’s got only one backer… who’s pitched in $1. Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but hey, the winds may shift. Who knows? Support the project.
