‘Xbox Prestige’ concept is a gamer’s dream console

'Xbox Prestige' concept is a gamer's dream consoleWith all the talk about a next-gen Xbox rising to the surface, it’s only fitting that Joseph Dumary, designer of the PlayStation concept took a stab at conceptualizing Microsoft’s next console. It’s quite a wild imagining, even specs will definitely not make the cut for the 360′s successor, but imaginative nonetheless.

Because the Xbox Prestige is a concept, Dumary has creative freedom to go as crazy as he wants with the hardware. In a box smaller than the Xbox 360 S, the Prestige is a design that kills the optical disc and goes all digital. Games, videos and multimedia would be stored either in the Xbox cloud or on its 2TB hard drive.

If the Xbox Prestige was real, it would have an eight-core processor, 3D, 4K2K resolution support, GPS and multiTV (DPConnect) support. We’re going to presume it would have the best and fastest graphics card on the planet, too.

Not to leave Kinect out of the party, Dumary’s given it an upgrade with two options. The first one is “KinectIN,” two mini cameras, four sensors and a mic built into the console that lets you navigate through menus with gestures. The second choice is an upgraded add-on “Kinect 2.” Kinect 2 would 10 times more sensitive than the original and would record full 3D high definition video.

Taking a page from his PS4 concept, the Xbox Prestige’s controller would have a screen that displays alerts, allows adjusting of the analog sticks torque, and a camera for activating your Xbox profile.

Dumary’s a dreamer, and on this Thanksgiving day, we’re thankful that there are creatives like him who continue to dream up concepts that might one day become real.
