SPIE provides a vehicle for technical exchange by organizing conferences and publishing the results for distribution to the international technical community. The Society encourages and solicits the presentation of new, original, and previously unpublished work that is not commercial in nature.
Research papers from the conferences are available within two to four weeks after the conference in the SPIE Digital Library. Print volumes are published within six weeks, and symposium topical collections on CD-ROM are available within eight weeks.
