Baccarat beauty behind reason

Founded in 1764 by King Louis XV, Baccarat has been one of the finest crystal makers in the world for centuries. Baccarat crystal, known as “The Crystal of Kings” is world renowned for it’s clarity, brilliance, and uncompromising standards. Their home decor collection includes vases and candlesticks.
For more than 230 years, Baccarat has personified a certain image of French culture all over the world. Throughout the centuries, crystal signed by Baccarat has become synonymous with the social graces. Today, only the rigor of Baccarat’s know-how is able to meet the quality demanded by oenologists.

Baccarat glasses are a source of pleasure for both the eyes and the hand, and they meet the requirements for taste and aroma enhancement so that tasters can better appreciate wines.
Baccarat crystal refines the transparency of the glass with clarity. Enhanced by light, the chromatic nuances of wines are unveiled as they reveal the density of their color. When wine is swirled in the glass, legs adhere to the bowl; their more or less pronounced aspect gives an initial idea of the alcohol content of the wine or spirit.
The amplitude of the bowls, specially designed for focused wine-tasting sessions, is suited to the ideal approach of a wine’s unique aromas. The taster is therefore able to unlock the wine’s personality revealed by the bouquet. The grape variety, year and region… are gradually revealed as the nuances of the aromas move through fruity, gamey and spicy gradations.

Patricia Wexler’s skincare line - luxury brand for stars in Hollywood

Patricia Wexler M.D. is the skin care line featuring the most potent inhibitors of MMP activity available on the market. These patented ingredients are the result of a global collaboration involving academic experts, physicians and scientists from the biotechnology industry. These unique ingredients stop MMPs from causing skin damage and inhibit the expression of new MMPs in skin. It’s a completely revolutionary topical approach to anti-aging that interrupts the inflammatory process responsible for the most common skin problems – aging, acne and sensitivity. The result: skin is visibly renewed and improved from the inside out.

Matrix Metalloproteinases, more commonly referred to as MMPs, are a family of naturally produced enzymes that affect the skin’s ability to repair itself. While some MMPs are beneficial to the healing process, the majority are skin-degrading enzymes that increase in number both as you age and with exposure to environmental stressors. As MMPs increase in number and activity, key functions like collagen and elastin production are compromised, degrading the skin’s own ability to regenerate, causing wrinkles, dull, uneven skin tone and loss of firmness.

Thunder Perfect Prada

Fashion empress Miuccia Prada’s entree into the fragrance world takes a page from her design aesthetic - subtle and sophisticated with a bit of a twist - with ads for the coming out of Prada, the perfume, that are markedly different from the flashy affairs of couture contemporaries Gucci or Dolce & Gabbana.
Rather than take the traditional route of sexually charged commercials, Prada approached RSA’s Ridley and daughter Jordan Scott to create a short film to portray the many intricacies of women.

That was the extent of the brief, says Jordan. “Her only brief was that she wanted to show the complexities of being a woman. One sentence. That was it.” Fortuitously, Scott had been saving an ancient Gnostic poem from 100 AD for nearly a decade, holding onto it until the right project came up.
hypnotic-amber-prada Entitled “Thunder Perfect Mind”, the poem, which was discovered in Egypt in 1945, deals with the many aspects of the female psyche. It also became the basis for the film.
The film stars model Daria Werbowy as various female archetypes - the wife, the mistress, the virgin, the mother, the daughter - who pass each other in each scene. Set to a smooth jazzy score and narrated only with the text of the poem, the film has a very moody and ethereal feel.
While the film was co-directed by both Ridley and Jordan, the younger Scott led the project while the elder was more of a sounding board. “I was more hands-on and he supported me,” says Jordan. “It was great working with him and it worked out perfectly.” The two also collaborated on a separate short film.

A hotel built of dreams - Icehotel

ICEHOTEL is situated in the village Jukkasjarvi, 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden. The heart and backbone is the River Torne flowing freely through the unspoilt wilderness. Covered with a meter thick ice layer winter time the river is the source of all our art, architecture and design. The pure water and the steady movement of the river creates the clearest ice possible.

icehotel

The entire ICEHOTEL is on loan from the mighty Torne River and is a place where time stands still. Just a short period before, fish swam in the water and the river was a crashing torrent of whitewater, wild and frothing. And very soon, when the spring comes and then finally the summer, the rooms, the suites, the bar, the reception, in fact the entire creation, will once again become part of the rushing rapids coursing toward the sea.
Staying at ICEHOTEL is a must for the modern adventurer – an experience utterly unlike other hotel stays. After a day of adventure, nightfall approaches quickly. The outdoor temperature drops and when you step inside ICEHOTEL, you feel a rush of warm air. Inside, the temperature is never colder than -5 °C to -8 °C, regardless of how cold it may be outside. It will soon be time to climb into bed. Dress in warm thermal underwear, put on a hat and slip into the cozy sleeping bag. Share the whole surrealistic ice-night with someone special.

Limited Edition Men’s Reverso Grande Réserve

Reverso-watchTwo very different strands of style culture have intertwined to invent a modern classic. Opening the year of celebrations around the seventy-fifth birthday of perhaps the most well-known watch of all time the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso L.A. based cult customiser Dr Romanelli has collaborated with the esteemed Swiss watchmakers Jaeger-LeCoultre to produce two exclusive versions of the timepiece with the famous rotating case.
Bearing the hallmarks of Dr Romanelli’s ‘street couture’ design methodology, with his distinctive scissors logo on the dial, these exquisite watches have been fashioned so that they may be worn on the cuff of four beautifully hand-finished Dr Romanelli jackets, creating a sophisticated fusion of progressive sportswear and luxury brand aesthetics.
The stylish and powerful Reverso Grande Réserve model integrates the technical innovation associated with Jaeger-LeCoultre and the contemporary design flourishes brought to it by Dr Romanelli’s ‘customising’ design outlook. The watch boasts a calibre 874 mechanical movement, lending it eight days’ power reserve, whilst the elegant black and dark grey guilloché dial gives it a distinguished, bold appearance. A special engraving on the case-back of Dr Romanelli’s distinctive couture scissors motif asserts the piece as a must-have fashion item.
This new version of the Reverso watch also suggests a variety of ways of wearing the watch. It comes with a special adaptation bridge with a broad strap in soft lamb’s leather that can be strapped around the cuff of the Dr Romanelli jacket. In addition, the watch head may also be removed altogether and replaced with a steel tag for a more edgy, ‘street-style’ statement. The bridge is also removable so that the watch can be worn with a more classic strap if desired.
