Best large hotel in 2005 - Puerta America, Madrid - project of future
March 27th, 2006
The hotel managed by the Silken Group commissioned eighteen world-class architects and designers to work together on the project.

The Silken Hotel Group (a business venture by the companies Escampa and the Hotel Group Urvasco S.A) has presented the Hotel Puerta America project this morning, which has brought together, for the first time in history, eighteen architects and designers of international standing to create a space that will fire the imagination and stir the senses of visitors. Alberto Ruiz Gallardón, the mayor of Madrid, has pulled the lever to reveal the hotel façade decorated with passages from the poem “Liberty” by Paul Eluard. The Hotel Puerta América has 360 rooms (30 rooms per floor) and 644 parking spaces, with a total surface area of 34 thousand square metres. The junior suites will be located on either side of each floor (sitting room, bedroom and two bathrooms). There will also be 12 suites on the 12th floor. A masterpiece of architecture and design, where eighteen acclaimed architects and designers have joined forces, for the first time in history, to create a space that fires the imagination and stirs the senses of visitors.
A cultural manifesto where different cultures, beliefs and races coalesce to create a unique project but in wich each design concept is totally different.
