Eames Sofa - Comfort and Support

February 12th, 2006

The Eames sofa is the last piece of furniture produced by the Eames Office, which completed the design after Charles Eames died in 1978. It went into production in 1984 and has been manufactured by Herman Miller ever since.
Charles and Ray Eames designed the sofa to complement their plush soft pad chairs and the sleek chaise. It stands as a graceful reminder of the honest genius of Charles and Ray Eames.
Resilient suspension. Seat cushions rest on a fabric-reinforced rubber webbing for comfortable body support. Ample cushions. Seat and back cushions are 2-inch-thick foam; seat cushion bottoms are covered in ventilating nylon fabric. Sophisticated Design .
